Gamer Grid Application Update

I have made a few updates to my XBox Live Gamer Grid application. For those that are interested, the application can be found off the XBox Stuff menu to the left. For a direct link, visit http://www.cimba.com/flgs/friends.jsp.

The updates for this version are:
1. The grid style has been changed to match other tables in cimba.com
2. The grid has been cleaned up and streamlined. You may now also select anywhere from the 1-10 top games between all gamertags entered.
3. Game completion percentages are now color coded. Any games < 25% are red, those that are completed are green, and anything else is gray.

As always, comments and/or suggestions are welcome. Enjoy the update!

Bad day in the family

Yesterday was a bad day to be in my family.

First of all, I'm working from home, and around 10am, I heard what sounded like the garbage pickup service taking my garbage can and emptying it into my truck. I think nothing of it. Then, I hear a loud crash that sounded REALLY close. Now, I definitely have to get up and see what it is. I get outside and the neighbor's green Mercedes had crashed into my garage! After calling out the police, it turns out the girl that was driving does babysitting and had gone into their house to get one of the younger kids, leaving the oldest in the car. Even though he was buckled in, he unbuckled himself and somehow got the Benz into neutral and it rolled across the street and hit my house. They've been pretty gracious about the whole thing, getting the claim started and all that. I'm just glad the babies are OK.

Then, later in the afternoon, my 15 year old daughter calls me from the school bus saying they had just been in an accident. She's OK, but they were going to have to stay on the bus to get checked out before being allowed to continue home.

Everyone's OK, but it wasn't a great day for the family.

Going to be a Homeowner ...

... for the second time.

After looking at maybe 30 houses, and making offers on two (the first Seller wasn't as "motivated" a Seller as he made himself out to be), the latest offer was accepted after a counteroffer from both sides. I'm damned excited to finally - providing there aren't any hiccups with the inspections - have a place of my own again. It's a little smaller than I would prefer, but it's much cheaper than some of the other houses I've looked at. Decent back yard, deck, and other kids in the neighborhood for my kids to play with on weekends when they visit me. The drive is actually pretty good to work. About 9 miles in 15 minutes. It will be a MUCH longer commute than I current have (I live in an apartment half a mile from work right now), but it is very doable.

Now the inspections begin, Earnest Money has to be paid, and loans secured. Closing is October 20th, which, in my mind, can't come soon enough.

Yippee!

Old Farts at the Olympics

What's up with all the Old Farts being the anchors/correspondents of the Olympics coverage? Bob Costas, Jim Lampley, Mary Carillo, Cris Collinsworth? Granted, I'm not watching every minute of the coverage (it's really not that exciting to me), but Jeez Louise, can we get some younger people on there?
